Bell & Ross Takes Flight With Aircraft Radar-Inspired Watch

Bell & Ross, a Swiss watchmaker with a strong aviation heritage, is bringing back Red Radar. It’s a limited-edition model that has an aircraft control-inspired face. This makes it stand out from other models on the Swiss market or in their range.

Hodinkee reports the first version of the “watchmaking UFO”, which was unveiled to great surprise at Baselworld 2011, but the BR 03/92 Red Radar has not been surpassed. The ceramic 42mm case is a modern update to the original matte black/red colorway.

The new model features a radar-style dial with a central minute disc and an outer time disc. These are powered by the BR.CAL.302 automatic movement.

Red anti-reflective coating is applied to the sapphire crystal. The rubber, synthetic and PVD-finished buckles are also blackened. You can use it for hours, minutes, or seconds.

There are only 999 of the Bell & Ross Red Radars available for pre-order. Shipping will begin in July.
